The traditional days to start this Novena is 9 days before the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is 19 days after Pentecost on a Friday each year.

Day 1

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. O Eternal Father! Through the Heart of Jesus, my life, my truth, and path, I come before your Majesty. Through this adorable Heart, I adore you for those who do not; I love you for those who do not love you; I know you for those who, are willfully blind, and do not want to know you. Through this Divine Heart, I desire to satisfy Your Majesty for those duties which all men have. I offer you, all the redeemed souls, with the most precious Blood of Your Divine Son, and I humbly implore You for the conversion of all through this same Heart. Do not allow them to ignore my Beloved Jesus any longer; make them live for Jesus, who died for all of them. I also present to Your Majesty, through this Holy Heart, Your servants, and my friends.
